It’s time for a familiar face if you watch prime time TV!
A massive SFS welcome to Jill Halfpenny!!
Catching our eye after appearing in Channel 4’s gritty Sci-Fi drama Humans, former Strictly winner and royalty, Jill will be making her very first convention appearance and jiving into SFS in 2020, but for Saturday only, so don’t miss the chance to meet her….
Jill is currently starring in the brilliant, gritty, thought-provoking BBC One 4-part drama DARK MON£Y alongside Babou Ceesay. In absolute contrast to this, Jill can also be seen in Matt Berry’s unhinged Victorian comedy series YEAR OF THE RABBIT on Channel 4. Jill will also shortly Guest Star in the upcoming series of Reece Shearsmith and Steve Pemberton’s dark comedy INSIDE NO. 9. for BBC Two which will follow her return to Williams’ Brothers ITV drama LIAR.
Jill’s most recent theatre work saw her leading as the chaotic and traumatised character of Rachel in Rachel Wagstaffe’s new stage adaptation of Paula Hawkins’ psychological thriller THE GIRL ON THE TRAIN, directed by Joe Murphy at the West Yorkshire Playhouse. Jill’s latest Cinematic performance can be caught in Comedy Indie Feature WALK LIKE A PANTHER in which she wrestles alongside Stephen Graham, Dave Johns and Jason Flemyng amongst others.
Jill’s recent screen work also includes her Guest Star role in the latest series of BBC One’s Northern Drama ORDINARY LIES following her shoot on the incredible THREE GIRLS directed by Philippa Lowthorpe for BBC One. This, of course, followed Jill’s return to screen as a lead regular in the second series of Kay Mellor’s BBC drama IN THE CLUB which she delved into after starring in Alan Ayckbourn’s WAY UPSTREAM directed by Nadia Fall alongside Sarah Parish at Chichester Festival Theatre. The first series of IN THE CLUB was shot in tandem with another series premiere – Danny Boyle’s dark comedy-drama BABYLON for Channel 4 written by Jesse Armstrong and Sam Bain in addition to her series lead role in supernatural thriller LIGHTFIELDS, directed by Damon Thomas for ITV.
Jill is of course well known for her unforgettable Olivier Award-winning performance as Paulette in the original West End production of LEGALLY BLONDE alongside Sheridan Smith and following her award-winning run, she then went on to guest star in Sky One’s comedy-drama MOUNT PLEASANT, ITV’s WILD AT HEART, Feature Films COMMAND APPROVED, HOW TO STOP BEING A LOSER and Canadian Drama MURDOCH MYSTERIES for CBC.
Many thanks to Andrew Brittle of AB Convention Agency for making this excellent guest opportunity a reality.
